Beyond Expectations (BE)
is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was started with a few dedicated parents who were concerned about the limited information available to students for their educational pursuits 'beyond' high school.

Leontyne Anglin, a corporate executive at the time, tapped into her professional networks to help organize an educational forum to help students and parents demystify the college application process. Hosted in conjunction with a local youth organization, the event drew more than 200 attendees.

During the program, several participants admitted that they previously considered colleges with the 'nicest brochures' -- rarely taking time to speak with admissions counselors or visit campuses.

It was clear we needed to do more...
