The power of public/private partnership

Mar 1 — Thanks to a Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Grant from the Target Foundation, we’ve opened the doors to a brand new Teen Tech Center in our southeast region of Conway, South Carolina. Excited for the youth and families to have a place to participate together in our virtual trainings, play games and JUST HAVE FUN!

Great collaboration with our partners, Palmetto Kids, led by our amazing Southeast Region Liaison Katrina Reaves; Coastal Carolina University Engineering Department for leading the setup and equipment installation; and the Conway Chamber of Commerce for graciously providing the wonderful space.

Nov. 20 — Today was the big day!! Our amazingly talented inaugural team of Tournament Organizers (TOs) worked extremely hard and were super excited to watch their ideas come to life!

Under the direction of the Head Organizer, the students worked diligently across platforms engaging with viewers as Chat Moderators in Twitch and as Score Reporters in Discord interacting behind the scenes with players as they geared up for each match.

The event turned out to be an international collaboration.

The 16-player competition drew players from across the United States and Canada showcased nearly 4 hours of awesome action. Our Head Organizer was based in Holland, The Netherlands. The professional commentators from the United Kingdom and Finland added extra excitement to the day! The final action-packed match came down to Zomba & Jake (who took home the top cash prize!)

Ever thankful to Metafy for their patience, guidance, and instruction throughout the entire 6-weeks of intensive training, all of our facilitators who volunteered their time as well as each of our partners and sponsors for their ongoing support.

Because of all of you, so many new doors have now been opened.

Nov 6 — We're in week 4 of our 6-week Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

Many thanks to amazing facilitators who led our Business & Career Summit. The group of diverse professionals included NFL and video game industry legends, airline pilot, animator, fine artists and a MLB photo editor just returning from the World Series!

Our goal was to expose students across the region to as many different industries as we could that they may have not otherwise considered. Then allow them direct access to ask all the questions they had on their bright, inquisitive minds.

Sincerely appreciate each and everyone for making the time to make the day so memorable...
