Visual Merchandising.
Simone A. Jarvis is a Case Supervisor with Court Appointed Special Advocates of Burlington County (CASA). A former Visual Merchandiser with Target and New York's H&M flagship store, she educates students on wardrobe tips for on-camera appearances and interviews. Simone serves as BE's Manager of Sponsorships and Community Relations leading our "Successories Drives" securing donations of accessories for our young professionals.
Public Speaking.
Kevin Thompson, MPA, DTM, is a multi-award winning professional speaker with a Six Sigma Black Belt in Process Improvement. He is the former President of the New Jersey National Speakers Association and facilitates Public Speaking and Personal Branding workshops for our Young Professionals Leadership Initiative.
Animation.
Kenneth Lee has a background in 3D animation, motion graphics, and design. A number of our students have expressed an interest in this area. In additional to showcasing sample projects, he provides candid conversations about career options in the field of animation.
Independent Living.
Executive Chef Kahlil Wyche is one of the hottest on-demand chefs in the country! For more than 20 years, he has catered to the diverse culinary needs of celebrities, corporations, and families as CEO of Catering to Your Whims, Inc. He shares successful business principles and conducts a Healthy Cooking / Nutrition program for our Young Professionals Leadership Initiative.
Journalism.
Linda Shockley is Deputy Director of The Dow Jones News Fund which promotes careers in print and online journalism through workshops for high school students and recognition for journalism teachers. She is President of the Lawnside Historical Society and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She shares trends in journalism, digital media, and online reputation management.
Audio Production.
Danielle Lewis is an audio engineer, production manager and stage manager experienced in audio production, live sound reinforcement, theater and live recording events. She explains the importance of sound, pitch, and volume in production by simulating a basic sound amplification system.
Voiceover.
George Washington III is a professional voice artist whose impeccable voice has represented McDonald's, Courtyard by Marriott, Whole Foods, and Time Warner Cable. George explains the process of creating a PSA (public service announcement) developed from students' original content.
Vocal Technique.
Lisa Daltirus is a professional opera singer who has received international acclaim for her performances at opera houses, symphonies, and other arts organizations. She assists students with vocal and breathing exercises to improve their communication skills, specifically projection and diction.
