Beyond Expectations is so much more than film. Service first...

December 16 -- We had a great time with a team of ETS employees in Princeton for our annual Holiday Gift Drive. With the help of their awesome volunteers, we were able to wrap hundreds of gifts, toys, clothes, and pajamas to provide to local transitional and homeless shelters.

Just our small way to spread some warmth and joy to local children and families this holiday season.

But really, what's a Gift Drive without a Santa? Former Philadelphia Eagle Reggie "Truck" Brown paid a visit to get us all into the joyous holiday spirit and joined us on the road as we made the deliveries.

Another awesome collaboration with TCNJ and the Bonner Center

December 3 -- "Fans and students of popular culture are familiar with many of the big music acts of the 1960s and 70s, such as Gladys Knight and the Pips, Labelle and Kool and the Gang. But what's less known is that many of the artists, producers, backup musicians and engineers behind this iconic music came from Trenton and its surrounding communities."

The College of New Jersey Bonner Center, students from Dr. Kim Pearson's Interactive Media class, and Beyond Expectations entered into an exciting collaboration to help capture their significant contributions and bring their stories to life. The multimedia project involved archival research, oral history interviews and extensive secondary research.

On Wednesday, December 3, the project culminated at the Conservatory Mansion in downtown Trenton as the students presented their multimedia website and new Trenton Music History app!

Beyond Expectations Screening in Trenton, NJ

November 22 - Beyond Expectations hosted a screening for another group of talented young people.

It was a showcase of original television segments created by the participants of the Young Professionals Leadership Initiative during a Speedcrewing Workshop at Riverview Studios in Bordentown, NJ.

Special thanks to Comcast for backpacks filled with supplies for interviews including portfolios, ties for the guys and scarves for the girls.

Countdown to #GivingTuesday

Beyond Expectations participates in #GivingTuesday because it demonstrates the collective power of charities, families, businesses, and individuals to transform how people think about, talk, and participate in the giving season.

It inspires people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to charities and causes they support.

We have a few exciting day-of-service projects lined up this year:

18 Cookie Project - Thousands of youth across the US transition out of foster care - often as young as 18 years old. Even for those with jobs, they often don't have the lump sum needed for a place of their own. Our 18 Cookie Project was created to help. Gather a group of friends and join us as we bake for a cause. Or, just donate to help defray costs of supplies.

Digital Media Drive - Don't get rid of those old cameras and computers just yet! Our Young Professionals Leadership Initiative provides new skills and helps forge professional relationships. We desperately need gently used/refurbished film equipment, laptops or iPADs to upgrade our Media Room to produce video resumes for students as they train and prepare for careers.

Holiday Gift Drive  - We collect toys throughout the year. During the holidays, we partner with organizations to help sort and wrap the toys that we donate to youth and families in transition so they can enjoy the holiday season. Last year, we partnered with Jersey Cares at a home for older teens and had a great time with the guys decorating and trimming the tree.
